"Three weeks prior to our March 2008 cruise which we had planned a year
ago, we decided we would like to get married while on the cruise. We
checked the website for our cruiseline, which did not provide for at sea
weddings. They would help you plan an island wedding but everything cost
an arm and a leg and we were not looking to spend lots of $$, or have
anything too involved.
We researched the islands we were going to and found st. lucia was the only one we were visiting that did not have a 3 day residency requirement. The st lucia web page also gave numerous companies that do island weddings. We emailed at least 10 different companies... of which only 2 responded. No Frills Weddings responded the next day... which was a Saturday. Not only did they have email... they have a toll-free phone number for use in the USA. Tamara responded and gave me info on what they offer. After numerous emails and lots of information and research, we decided to go with her company to plan our beach wedding. The pre-planning was accomplished with no issues at all. Our wedding day was a wonderful perfect experience! Tamara took care of everything, we had a beautiful, no frills, beach wedding on Choc beach in castries st lucia officiated by the sweetest wedding officer anyone could imagine. Everything went smoothly from the time we met Tamara off the gangway of the ship, She accompanied us to the lawyers to sign for our license and we were soon off to the beach with our 4 guests for our ceremony. The beach was practically deserted and decorated so nicely! After the brief ceremony, and our champagne toast, we opted to stay at the beach for a few hours. We swam and relaxed in the beautiful sunshine! We walked up the beach to the Wharf - a little bar/restaurant we also highly recommend. The staff there was wonderful and we enjoyed very reasonable drinks and a great lunch. Our ship was soon leaving so our cab driver Owen picked us up and returned us to the ship... a great end to a totally wonderful experience. No Frills Weddings was a very great company to work with! Although our wedding was very simple Tamara tells me they do lavish weddings and anything in between. She was absolutely wonderful and she still keeps in touch with us from time to time. We can not say enough how totally perfect the entire experience was! We highly recommend contacting them if you are interested in an island wedding!!" |
